What
is the importance of drivers ed in reducing the number deaths
as a result of driving?

Driving
on the road can have fatal consequences if not taking care of proper
speed limit, lack of attention on the road, and consuming illegal
substances such as the use of alcohol beverages. As a result of this,
drivers ed is important for the prevention of serious car
accidents and prevent future deaths on the road. In fact, wearing a
seat belt, have the car in proper conditions, and maintain a proper
speed limit on the road result as a safety driving. Moreover, driving
education teach the individual how to make a proper stop at a certain
distance, put the blinkers when making a right or left turns, follow
a proper speed limit on the road on a specific highway areas and park
properly when parking at a parking lot. In addition, there are
several facts in considering driving education important for the
individual on how to drive safety on the road and prevent future
deadly car accidents.

Furthermore,
one important fact for drive safely on the road is the use of a seat
belt. Wearing a seat belt is the number one priority of driving safe
on the road. In addition, based on a research article Tips for
Driving More Safely “Always wear your seatbelt – correctly.
Adjust the lap belt to fit low and tight across your hips/pelvis, not
your stomach area.” (De Lisi 24). Moreover, the use of a seatbelt
is fundamental for driving safely on the road, but it is important to
know how to properly use it. As matter of fact, wearing the seatbelt
correctly would result in proper adjustment of secureness behind the
wheel while driving.

To
mention, driving education is a top priority when initiating the very
first steps on driving a car on the road. Moreover, without taking a
proper class driving education there wouldn’t be no acknowledgement
on how to drive safely on the road and take serious precautions in
case of a car accident. In fact, based on a research article Arrive
Alive: Fred Mottola’s Tips for Driving Safely “Whenever you are
driving behind another vehicle, try to keep at least four seconds of
following time and space. This would allow you a safety cushion to
react to sudden situation and removes the “control” the car in
front has over your actions.” (Muha 6). Furthermore, tips for
driving safety results as a good advice for individuals in case or
prevention of a car accident.

In
addition, another important fundamental aspect of driving safely is
the use of lights on the road. For the most part, during the night is
when lack of visibility results of what is on the road and as a
result a car accident might be the consequence. Moreover, the use of
lights at night and even during the day are quite important to see
nearby objects and have high levels of awareness while driving. In
fact, based on a research article Study of Fatal Injuries Sustained
By Car Drivers In Road Traffic Accidents “Fog and poor vision was
cause of accident in 33.4% causes followed by over taking, (21.2%),
over speeding (11.1%), sleepiness (11.1%), and loss of control
(11.1%), alcohol (7.4%) and mechanical failure (3.7%).” (Singh et
al 44). These are one of the factors of why it is important to have
lights on all the time and other related statistical causes as a
result of car accidents on the road.

Moreover,
being behind the wheel requires 100% attention and consciousness
while driving on the highway. However, not all people obey the quote
“if you drink don’t drive” this is another important aspect of
why do we need to be aware of alcoholic beverages when it comes to
drunk drivers behind the wheel. In addition, based on research
article Be responsible: Do your part to prevent drunk driving “The
three most critical skills for safe driving are judgement, vision and
reaction. Alcohol is a depressant that impairs critical driving
skills, event at blood alcohol level well below the legal limit. (Be
responsible: Do your part to prevent drunk driving 35). For this
reason, driving under the effects of alcohol would disturbed the
central nervous system and the inability to react during a car crash
and lead to deadly car accident.

In
addition, vision, reaction and judgement play an important aspect of
drive safely on the road. It is important to understand the most of
the car accidents are due to the lack of responsibility and the
inability to have self-control. In fact, most of the individuals
involve in car accidents are young individuals, these individuals may
know how to drive but most of the times they are under the
self-impulsiveness based on their age. Moreover, based on a research
article YOUNG DRUNK DRIVERS “Traffic accidents are the leading
cause of death for 15 – 20 year olds, and alcohol is factor in 36
percent of traffic fatalities involving drivers under age 21.”
(Mejeur 15). Based on the statistics, young adults emphasize a high
risk of being involve in a car accident under the influence of
alcohol and for this reason, we need to be aware of drunk drivers
seriously because deadly car accidents on the highway would result.

Moreover,
drive safely on the road is important and it is a one-thing priority
every time we are behind the wheel. Always try to keep our eyes on
the road and not get distracted easily, distractors such as the use
of cell phone become as the most popular distractors while driving.
Furthermore, based on a research article “Moreover, a systematic
review of the peer-reviewed literature on distracted driving found
that of 165 studies exploring the relationship between cell phone use
and driving performance, 163 (98%) found that cell phone use was
associated with detrimental driving performance.” (Ferdinand et al
748). In fact, any sort of distraction such as the use of cell phone
while driving may result on a serious car accident. For this reason,
it is important to drive safely without the use of cell phone while
driving; this would rise levels of awareness on the road and prevent
possible incidents.

For
this reason and previous facts regarding the importance of drive
safety on the road, driving education is important for reducing the
number of deaths on car crashes. Going to a proper driving school
would teach the individual how to drive safely and know the facts
behind the wheel when not taking it serious. Driving education teach
the individual how to use the seatbelt properly, look through the
mirrors when going reverse, put the blinkers when making a turn
either right or left, park properly on specific parking areas and
respect proper parking such as disability parking or employers
parking.

Overall,
the fact that driving education would emphasize an important aspect
of know how to drive safely on the road it also prevents future
accidents on the highway. In addition, based on the facts giving on
deadly car accidents and their statistics it is important to take
serious precautions when using our own automobile on the highways. To
mention, it is important to know the meaning of the quote “if you
drink don’t drive” nowadays there are plenty of accidents that
involved young adults under the effects of alcohol and as result of
deadly car crashes on the road. Moreover, attending a driving school
help in the process of know how to drive safely and reduce possible
car accidents on the highway.
