Safe Driving Saves Lives

Safe driving is important for every person who sits behind a steering wheel, to practice. Safe driving would greatly reduce the number of deaths that occur due to car accidents. Many steps can be taken to help reduce these deaths. As a new driver myself, driving safe is a top priority of mine because I do not want to hurt myself or others by recklessly driving. Drivers ed is particularly important in making sure that safe driving is being maintained. 

Drivers ed is important to people because when well-educated on how to drive safely, the chances that an accident occurs that would result in death is unlikely. Through drivers ed a person will learn how to safely navigate the roads and what to do in any unexpected event. Providing this education to any person who is getting their license would help roads everywhere to be safer. This is the first step to reducing the number of deaths related to driving. 

Safe driving and drivers ed is important to me because, while I have never been in an accident, I have many family members and friends that have been in accidents. Thankfully, none of them resulted in a death but it does make me realize how important it is to drive safely and how easily someone could have been badly hurt. When I was young an awfully close family member was in a bad accident where she had to stay in the hospital for days. This family member was my mom, imagining this accident being any worse makes me incredibly sad to think that I could not have my mom with me still today. Therefore, drivers ed is so important to me. 

Steps that I can take to be a better and safer driver is to follow all the rules of the road. I can also make sure that I am constantly scanning the road for any obstructions that could cause an accident. I can help others be safer on the road by reminding them reckless driving can cause deaths. I can also help them find resources that will educate them.
