Stop
the Crash
Many
people everyday get in car accidents world wide. Motor vehicle
accidents can occur for many reasons including, inexperience driving,
driving while intoxicated, texting, or doing a number of other
things.
A
large portion of why teens and young adults get into accidents while
driving is do to the fact that they are just simply inexperienced
drivers. Something that could help with this inexperience with
driving would be to send kids to drivers ed. Drivers ed
is a place for kids to learn how to drive safely and effectively by
someone other than their parents. Kids will be given an instructor
which they will drive around with and be taught how to properly drive
a car and how to be safe on the roads. This is a good idea because it
allows kids to be taught by another person other than their parents.
Parents can be frustrating when they are trying to teach you how to
drive, which may cause you to night pay as much attention causing
unsafe driving later on. This also gives kids more time on the roads
to practice their driving which can reduce the number of accidents
and accident related deaths.
Steps
that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths by car accidents its
to require kids to take drivers ed either through their school
or an outside company in order to get their license. This just
ensures kids are practicing driving ad much as they should be and
learning how to do it safely. Additionally, you should require kids
to practice in the winter if you like in an area with bad winter
conditions. This allows kids to have practice in dangerous weather
conditions which can teach them how to respond to situations when
driving conditions are bad.
Personally,
I have witnessed two accidents before. One I was on my way to a high
school gymnastics meet when all the sudden a pick up truck came
running through a red light and T-boned another car. I have also
watched a large semi truck run straight into a bunch of cars crushing
them like sticks. Both of these accidents really scared me because
the cars were crushed. Now I am extra careful around trucks and at
lights.
To
improve my driving I think I need to break early when coming to stop
signs and lights. I think I break too late and more often than not I
end up needed to push on my brakes harder in order to not crash. I
especially need to do this when it starts snowing more so I don’t
slide on ice, into another car, or so my anti lock brakes don’t go
on. If I stop sooner I think that would make other people behind me
stop sooner which make us less likely to get into an accident. I also
think I should keep father distances away from the cars in front of
me so I dont cash, especially during the winter.
