Helping out when I can

My name is Kylon Cunningham, I am a 16 yr old African American young man
who attends Bessemer city high school. I take advanced placement
classes, I am in national beta club, and national technical honor
society, and honor society. I am a usher at my school and a mentor. I
have volunteered since I was in elementary school. I have volunteered
in retirement homes every year from 3-7 th grade. I tended to the
elder and took care of them, I sung to them, and I helped go from
point A to B, whatever they needed. I also went to churches to sing,
and I helped plan school festivities. In middle school I helped teachers, principals, whoever needed a hand,

I would take things to their car for them,

I watched they’re classes while they were gone, I monitored the halls
and more.

In high school, I help teachers, principals, whoever needed a hand,

I would take things to their car for them,

I watched they’re classes while they were gone,

I monitored the halls and more.

During the summer of 2015, I came to school every day and volunteered to
help the camp program.

During these eight hours I volunteered each day,

I would take students to their classes, their activities,

I made their lunch and walked them there,

I assisted the teachers any way possible.

I also helped install the high school’s computer room.

I also volunteer with the girl scouts with my church.

With them I have fed the homeless, cooked for the needy,

and helped sell girl scout cookies.

Sometimes on my own free tie, I will take a homeless person and/ or family to a
fast food restaurant and bought them lunch and/ or dinner.

I may not have all of this on my record, or resume, but I help whenever
I can, anywhere I can. I don’t expect anything in return, I just
treat people the way I would want to be treated if I was in their
certain situation.
