Volunteering at the church close to where I live has really changed me as a person.
Every month on every Sunday morning from 9:30-12:00, I help out at
the church by servicing the priest there, to cleaning up around the
church after mass. My biggest challenge volunteering over at my
church is to see how fast I can clean up around the church with my
friends that are doing the same thing as me. And that is what kind of
satisfied me whenever I was there helping out. Knowing that I have my
friends at church that are helping to clean up a place that was made
for God and to worship him and his son Jesus every Sunday. That’s
what truly kept me going back there. Because every time I’m there,
I feel much better and I even feel at piece when I’m either praying
to God, or just cleaning around the church to make it look just a bit
neater. And the more that I started helping and volunteering at
church, the more it actually helped me in life. Because knowing that
God and his son are always with us and watching over us no matter
what, I’m safe in his hands. Whether if it has to do with my
schoolwork or my personal life, I have him with me keeping me safe
everyday no matter what. Now as for the future, I feel like what I’m
doing still right now might have changed for the better in my future,
and for others as well. Because knowing that the future generations
are possibly going to be where I am in ten or twenty years doing what
I am doing right now makes me feel happy and accomplished.
