Helping the Community

Helping out my community is a big deal for me. One of the place that I love to go to
is the Santa Clara animal shelter. The reason why I say this is
because I love animals. When I was younger all I cared about was the
animals on this earth so I had to start somewhere to understand all
kinds of different animals/ species so I thought why not do some
community service hours at the animal shelter, and so I did. Overall
hours at the animal shelter I have at least 40 to 50 hours worth
which I know isn’t very much but you gotta start somewhere right?
Now what I did there was to clean the kennels, washing some of the
animals (dogs, cats, guinea pigs) they even had me clean some birds
which is pretty tricky if I do say so myself. But nevertheless I
thought that was a great experience and I plan on to do more service
at the animal shelters and to love and respect all the animals as
they were one of my own. What I want to do with my life is to become
a marine and wildlife biologist. Mainly for Marine bio I want to go
into the field of shark tagging. I’ve always been fascinated by the
sharks because there is so much we can learn from them and that
people have this fear of them like of there going to bite you, but in
reality not all sharks are dangerous. For example, you have the whale
shark. It may look a giant man eater but it’s not. It actually just
eats krill and shrimp, sure there mouth is wide enough to the point
where you can put a human being in it but it would just spit you out
because it cannot swallow you. There throat size is about the size of
a cantaloupe. But overall for my community service hours I have over
a hundred hours. Approximately hundred fifty/sixty. I hope that you
have enjoied my little story and hope to hear back from you soon.
