Currently, I am facing a very tragic event which is having drastic effects on my
life; my mother was recently diagnosed with non-small cell lung
cancer. Due to her conditions, I must stay close to home and be
to care for her. Since my parents are divorced and we do not have any
nearby relatives, I am the only lifeline
to provide support. I have had to take time off of school and work in
order to give her the love and assistance that she needs. A
scholarship would provide me with the ideal opportunity to advance my
education, tend to the needs of my mother, and pay off my tuition.

I was planning on committing to CSULB in Fall of 2016. However, due to
these recent circumstances, I may decide to attend Community College
first in order to stay local and care for my mother. This

scholarship would be very advantageous
to helping me achieve my goal of becoming a teacher. Through out my
life, I have always tried my utmost best to make a positive impact in
any environment I am in.

While I challenged myself by taking difficult classes throughout my high school career,
I have always maintained outstanding work ethics with over a 4.0 GPA.
I have also been an active member in the National Honors Society
chapter at my school and a tutor to students who seek extra
assistance. During my time at Aliso Niguel High School, I was aways
involved in
scholastic and extracurricular activities; not only am I the president and
founder of the Friendship Circle Club,
n-profit organization where teenagers interact with special needs children,
but I am also the president of Lunch Buddies. I have been a committed
volunteer at the Friendship Circle for 5 years and I plan to be
involved with the association for many years to come. My dream is to become a
teacher so I can inspire students to be the best they can be while
still being
available to tend to my mother.

Receiving this scholarship would fulfill
my academic dreams, enhance my
growth, and help me provide for my mother. Thank you very much for
your time and consideration!
