Why
Safe Driving is Important

  • What
is the importance of drivers ed in reducing the number deaths
    as a result of driving?
    Driver
    education help people learn all

    about
the safety rules for driving. When you know the rules and procedures
on driving on the highway, tollways, beltways and in the inner
cities or rural areas it makes driving safe for everyone. By knowing
this it cuts down fatalities and should reduce the number of deaths
because regardless if you are 16 years old or 80 years old everyone
    can benefit from drivers ed.

  • What
steps can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to
    driving?
    There
are few steps that can be taken to reduce driving deaths and they
are: 1. Reduce the speed limit in certain states, in TX you can
drive 80 miles per hour, in my mind that’s fast because now people
will drive 85-90 miles per hour always 5-10 miles over the speed
limit and this speed causes fatalities because it takes a lot to
slow down. 2. There should be age limit on who drives at night on
major highways and rural areas. If you are 16 years old or 85 years
old then you should only be able to drive for 6am-10pm. After 10pm
then you should be off the road.

  • Have
you ever had an experience of being in car accident or have seen
your friends or family members driving irresponsibly?

Yes,
my dad sometimes drives and texts. This makes me very angry and I
tell him this all the time that I feel very uncomfortable with it and
that driving and texting is not safe and it causes unwanted
accidents. He has since quit texting and has become more caring and
responsible about my life and other people lives when driving.

  • What
steps can you take to be a better and safer driver as well as help
others become safer on the road?

One
to always drive the speed limit. Always be cautious of the other
driver at all times. Pay attention to signs, work areas, lights,
railroad crossings, construction and school buses when driving. Never
be in a hurry when driving, my motto on this is “ it will be there
when I get there” so I always take my time and do the normal speed
limit regardless if the other people around me are driving well
passed the speed limit. Better safe than sorry.
