What has been my biggest challenge as a volunteer?
The hardest challenge for me that has been involved in my volunteering
experience is a mixture of many different things. These different
things are emotional, heartwarming, and some times physically tiring.
In every volunteering state you always experience these three things,
and as for me, they are a challenge. Whenever I first step on to a
new volunteering job I feel like I have a goal and a mission as to
what I am here for and what I have to do to get things done the right
On one particular job that I did with my church, which was the most
challenging job I have ever done, we had to get up at five in the
morning and drive an hour an a half to on old rail station. When we
got there, there was a whole line of about ten rail cars. We spent
the whole day loading up car after car after car with boxes of basic
day to day living supplies for people in south Africa. Not only was
it labor intensive, but it was also in the middle of a thunder storm
witch made the job a lot harder. Some people slipped on the deck of
the rail road cars and cut there arm or leg up. It was a real job
that literary took blood, sweat, and tears. But when we where all
done, we all knew that It was for a good cause.
This is an example of how emotional,
heartwarming, and physical volunteerism can be. Over all challenges
like this do occur in volunteering, no matter what kind of a job it
is, there are always going to be positives and negatives. In
conclusion meany challenges occur over the course of volunteering,
that’s just the way its going to be, and that’s how life works. In volunteering cases
you have to create a challenge to stop one.
