achievements in school, passion for volunteerism, and leadership
skills have all greatly helped throughout my journey in my academic
career and quest to get into my dream college. All of these
previously mentioned aspects of my life and personality make me
someone who is consistently trying to work hard and succeed.
As a student with
an Individualized Education Program (I.E.P.) for many years my
patience within high pressure and frustrating situations has helped
me academically become better within multiple aspects of my life.
My sophomore year of high school was a significant struggle for me,
for example. My patience within my academics and my will to persevere
kept me going. I was able to raise my G.P.A. and continue on a
growing path toward my ultimate goal: Embry-Riddle Aeronautical
have a deep passion for helping people in various situations and
volunteering my time. For instance, I spent most of my personal
time bettering myself, and I am always working vigorously to help out
the people and the community around me. You can always find me
lending out a hand for whomever needs it and I always oblige to help
the teachers in my school. As a volunteer manager for the Lacey High
School’s girls’ soccer team, I lend on my own time to the
responsibility to work personally with the soccer team’s coach to
analyze and improve their performance after the games. I also assist
in the production and compilation of the film shown at the
end-of-year celebratory banquet and I keep documentation of the
girls’ statistics within each game to help review performance.
Additionally, I volunteered a copious amount of hours as a counselor
for at-risk youth at the A.M.P. (Achieving Maximum Potential) Zone in
Bayville, New Jersey. At this facility, I helped direct
children in focusing on gaining skills in becoming successful,
compassionate people while helping the teachers organize student
events and activities. I also volunteered at the Ocean County Airport
in Berkeley Township, New Jersey with volunteering ample time helping
pilots execute their daily routines in order to work toward my goal
of becoming a pilot myself.
Some say that I command leadership qualities. I am skilled in
strategy video gaming within the realm of predicting problems and
finding solutions due to the fact that I am a troubleshooter who
thinks of all the possibilities available. With that said, I
was the captain of my high school volleyball team for my junior year.
My younger teammates looked upon me with deep respect as I assumed my
responsibilities as their shepherd. As a captain, I would set
up practices and run pre-drills for the coach, hype teammates up
before a big game, and act as a role model to keep my teammates
With all of these
qualities in which I hold, I feel that I should be considered for
your scholarship. Thank you very much, and I immensely
appreciate your time to review me for this scholarship.
