A
crisis
The
car is considered to be the second most dangerous mode of
transportation after motorcycles. With nearly 1.25 million deaths a
year a license is still the freedom, that every young adult wants. In
this case, teenagers have access to driving schools or even online
courses to understand the rules of the road. The modern driving
education has implemented the brains of young adults with basic
knowledge of the rules or the road along with complicated knowledge
that you can’t control, like road rage, drunk driving, and texting
and driving.

Many
accidents are due to drunk driving and texting while driving. There
are ways to reduce these accidents but unfortunately, there will
always be people who will not abide to the law. In the state of
Massachusetts holding a cellular device in your hand will be made
illegal on 2/23/2020. One step closer to safety.

Unfortunately,
I have been in a vehicle with a driver who was texting and driving.
When this happens I always offer to text the person for them so they
do not have text on the road. If anyone has experienced the same type
of situation I highly recommend a positive solution rather than being
harsh and yelling at the person because sadly, our generation has a
phone addiction epidemic. Another idea I want to make a reality is,
an automated lockbox for your cell phone when you drive. This box
would be connected to your engine so whenever you start the car the
box would lock and once you turn your car off the box would unlock.
This idea would be an effort to stop a main component in reckless
driving accidents.
