While most people can argue that as long as you pay attention it is okay to be underskilled and on the road. Drivers should use the resources that are amongst themselves to learn the dangers of being distracted behind the wheel or being reckless. In the driver's seat, being an uneducated driver is the main reason most vehicular accidents occur; I agree that all drivers need to acknowledge that driver rules are there to protect themselves and others. If you want to keep a clean driver's record or your license, you should unquestionably consider becoming an educated driver.
Most educated drivers lose their lives to drivers who aren’t informed. If you educate yourself before heading out on the road, you know what to do when you find yourself in a deadly situation. When becoming a beginner driver you have to go through the permit process. This process is the most important due to it being a guideline/list of road rules. The reason driver-ed exists is to teach new and upcoming drivers how to be cautious when on the road. A lot of people don’t take this segment seriously because it's a lot of reading, but reading is fundamental. Within most roadbooks is a list of ways you can prevent or avoid unintentional accidents. Whether it’s how to safely drive on icy/wet roads or what to do when there are hazards in the road. It's important to know what to do when you find yourself in those risky predicaments.
When behind the wheel, they’re many steps you can take to steer clear of losing your life along with anyone else's. For example, texting and driving have been the cause of the majority of deadly accidents or just accidents in general. Being attentive to the road is key, that text can wait till you arrive at your destination. Another step you can take to reduce the number of driving-related deaths is driving the speed limit. There have been instances where I’ve been on the road and a speeding car nearly struck another car. Speeding and reckless driving is a reason why many people lose their lives. In driver books, it tells you that when speeding it takes your car longer to slow down. One last and final step of many steps you can take to be a cautious driver is to NEVER get behind the wheel intoxicated. Intoxicated drivers are the main reason why people lose their lives. It doesn’t matter if you think you are not that intoxicated, never get behind the wheel impaired. Once impaired it takes longer for you to react or even see the danger that lies in front of you.
There’s been plenty of times I've been in the car with friends and experienced reckless driving. When on the road as an educated driver in the passenger seat of an uneducated driver’s car, I provide reminders. These reminders have constantly saved me and other passengers in the car. There have been so many close calls that I’ve prevented because I have educated myself on the rules and risks of driving. Steps you can take to become a better and safer driver include first and foremost wearing a seatbelt. Not just wearing your seatbelt but also making sure that everyone in the vehicle has one on. Influencing others to refresh their memory on drivers' etiquette; Driving isn’t just about watching out for other cars but also about watching out for pedestrians/cyclists. Another great step to take to influence drivers is to tell older drivers to consider re-reviewing the road rules/drivers' etiquette. Some drivers have been on the road for years on years; Forgetting exactly what it means to be a safe driver. Re-reviewing allows them to refresh their memory on the risks of the road.
Being a well-versed driver can save your life in multiple situations you find yourself in because you have that knowledge of what to do. The steps you take not only can save your life but others. Small things such as putting on your seatbelt, never getting behind the wheel intoxicated, or driving the speed limit can reduce the likelihood of dying. Having simple drivers’ etiquette can save the lives of those outside of cars. Take the time out of your day to go back through and re-review ways to be a better and safer driver. There are plenty of ways to be a more cautious driver; A little research saves lives!
