Did you know that you are more likely to get in a car accident than in an airplane accident? Driving has some extreme dangers that can lead to consequences. It's better to be 5 mins late to work, abiding by all the traffic rules than to end up in a coffin trying to speed up to work.

One thing you should do before hitting the road is to Inspect your car. Check your tires so that they are not deflated, check your lights to ensure that they are working properly, and most importantly, check your car dashboard and see if anything is wrong with your car. Before you start your car, make sure that your seat is adjusted to your comfort, adjust your mirrors, and most importantly: make sure that your seat belt is on. Seat belts save lives and it should not be something to take for granted.

The best offense is a good defense. By that, I mean that you should be a defensive driver. Always be alert to your surroundings (You still need to keep your eyes on the road) and be aware of who is around you. By being attentive, you ensure that you are prepared to react if something happens on the road. it's also worth mentioning that it is best to keep your distance from other drivers so that you are able to have more time to react if an accident occurs.

Overconfidence is your enemy when it comes to driving. It can cause people to make risky actions that can cause fatal accidents. although it is not common around older drivers, it is very abundant among the new and younger drivers. I had a friend who got in a serious accident because he believed that he could cross the green light before it turned red and he didn't see the car coming. Thankfully, he survived and learned his lesson from that scary experience.

By driving on the road, you are knocking on death's door. Your life can change in a flash with just one small accident. With all of these serious risks involved, it is important to abide by all the traffic safety rules. Be alert of your surroundings, be sure to inspect your car before driving, abide by traffic laws, give the right of way, all of these things are important in being safe on the road, and under no circumstances, DO NOT BE A OVERCONFIDENT DRIVER.
