education teaches the rules a driver must follow to safely transport
themselves and others. With this education, drivers will know how to
properly notify others on the road of what action they plan to take,
reducing the chances of an accident. They will also learn when and
where it is safe to perform certain actions, like U-turns, and learn
reactive maneuvers to avoid accidents caused by someone else. A very
important step to reduce the number of deaths related to driving is
to pay attention to the road. Texts and phone calls are very
distracting and can take your attention away from the road while
driving. If you get a call or text, waiting until you reach your
destination to respond is crucial to the safety of everyone on the
road. I do have experience with car accidents. When I was younger, a
driver hit the back of the car my mother was driving while I was in
it. When we pulled over, the driver explained to my mom that he was
tired and was unable to stop the car before it was too late, showing
that drowsiness is another thing drivers should avoid to be safer on
roads. Steps I can take to be a better and safer driver are to be
aware of the road at all times, and to properly follow the rules and
regulations given and taught through drivers’ education.
