The
car is a very useful instrument but can also be dangerous if put into
the hands of someone who does not have control. Being in complete
control is how a person can be safe and practice defensive driving at
the same time. This takes time to develop but if a person practices
these measures then they will be sure to avoid any collisions or
fender-benders in their future. Having control will help decrease the
amount of accidents a person will have, and increase the amount of
defensive driving is had.
Accidents
happen due to a lack of attention paid to the road in most cases. One
of the most devastating causes of accidents is because of a cellular
device used at the time of a crash. Imagine using a phone for five
second while driving 50 miles per hour. That is hundreds of feet that
you are traveling at incredible speeds while having little to no
control over your vehicle. For example, 7 out of every 10 traffic
deaths are caused by a person texting while driving. over
your car is having absolutely no distractions available to you. If a
person wants to text and drive they may as well have their will
written out ahead of time.
Defensive
driving is the most important aspect of driving a vehicle that any
beginner(or person in general) should learn as soon as possible. A
defensive driver has everything on their side when it comes to being
safe on the road. For example, the typical rule of thumb emitted is
to stay a certain amount of cars away from the vehicle ahead of you
depending on the speed that you are currently going. If a person is
going 50 miles per hour they should try to stay at least five average
car lengths away from the car directly ahead of them.
Having
control of a car is easy and extremely difficult at the same time.
Anybody can get easily manipulated into the everyday distractions of
cell phones, or a video game player, but it is not worth their life.
Defensive driving and keeping attention to the road are the best ways
to ensure a safe trip every time.
