Round 3
Creating a More Safe Driving Environment for Everyone

I have been a part of a car accident resulting in both of the vehicles being totalled. There were no injuries but an accident like that can leave someone nervous of driving again. It is easy to lose control behind the wheel of a vehicle or to get distracted. Something could happen in a split second even if it is not your fault that led to it. Each person can do their part to try and prevent these accidents before they happen by something as simple as doing frequent maintenance checks on their vehicle to ensure safety while driving. Making sure you stay undistracted and keep calm behind the wheel. Other passengers in the vehicle can also do their part by also maintaining calm and using car features instead of the driver doing so. Teen drivers are involved in more accidents per year than adults, even when they have completed classes, courses and driving tests. Teenagers sometimes do not understand the responsibilities involved in operating a motor vehicle on their own. With less experience than an adult, and most times less skill, it can be hard to avoid these types of accidents that can come upon you quickly. Parents can do their part by teaching their kids different types of scenarios and how to avoid such incidents.
Driving a motor vehicle can be scary, dangerous and accidents can come upon you fast if you do not have the knowledge or skill to prevent them. Each person can do their part to counter incidents before they happen. If each person is tested on knowledge and ability just a few times during their life I strongly believe that the numbers of accidents in the United States would be lowered significantly over a period of time.
