Distracted
Driving

Distracted driving has killed 3,166 people in the year of 2017.
Distracted driving is any activity
that diverts attention from driving such as texting and driving,
fiddling with the radio while driving, talking to friends while
driving, and etc. Texting and driving are the worst of all. Reading
or sending a text takes the eyes off the road for at least five
seconds. At 55 miles per hour, that’s like driving a whole football
field with the eyes closed(
https://www.nhtsa.gov/risky-driving/distracted-driving).
Texting
and driving creates a great danger of car crashes. Texting and
driving is the leading reason for car accidents. At least eleven
teens die each day from texting and driving (texting and driving
crashes facts and stats- teen facts). Texting and driving can cause
drivers to drive recklessly from not paying attention to the road.
13,000 people die each year from reckless driving (distracted driving
stats). I can’t count the amount of people that I have heard that
have died from texting and driving. This is very common in teen
divers, so parents, if your kids do this please, make them stop.
Having too many people in the car can cause many car accidents.
Friends can and will become very distracting. Not only does it put
the driver, in danger it puts other kids in the car in danger along
with the people on the road.
If
a car crash happens from texting and driving it would be the drivers
fault. Many things can happen, for example, drivers could kill the
people in the car or kill the people in the other car. If this
happens, drivers will be responsible for the charges which could put
them in jail. Distracted driving is absolutely awful and more people
need to open their eyes and realize the danger in distracted driving.

Distracted driving is very deadly
and causes many accidents. Drivers would rather live to see the
person they were texting than be dead and never see them again.
