Drivers ed Essay

What is the importance of drivers ed in reducing the number deaths as a result of driving? What steps can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving? Have you ever had an experience of being in car accident or have seen your friends or family members driving irresponsibly? What steps can you take to be a better and safer driver as well as help others become safer on the road?

Drivers ed is more important than anyone could imagine. When a teenager once turns 16 they have probably never been behind a wheel of any kind. Growing up most children have watched either a racing theme movie or a NASCAR race and think the normal road is like that. Which then leads into high young driver related accidents or fatalities.
By adding a mandatory Drivers Ed course for new drivers will decreased the death toll. Drivers Ed helps news drivers learn the rule of the road that is not inside a book. While in class your teacher will teach you every road sign and how to react to the signs. By gaining book knowledge and learning how to control a vehicle will lead to a lowered death rate as well as, leading to a reduced number of deaths by driving.
My father has been a Sheriff’s Deputy for 13 years and he has told me stories of young drivers getting into wrecks and dying. My girlfriend’s grandfather was hit by a Semi Truck who ran a red light killing him on sight in 2010. He was coming home from a long day of work to see his wife, kids, and grandkids. The driver just received his license, CDL and was under the influence of drugs.
To improve our driving abilities and decreaseds deaths we need to pay attention to our surroundings. I will always check what and who is around me because they have a family that they want to get home to. Us Americans need to put down the cell phone and put your hands on the wheel. Once we start to pay more attention the roads will be a safer place for everyone.
