That is the first thing I thought of when I turned 15 and got my
permit, the first step to getting your driver’s license when you
turn 16 the following year. I got my driver’s license two years ago
and I am blessed to say that I have parents that trust me and
provided me with a vehicle to drive. My friends and I are always in
search of a good time and always wanting to hang out together. As we
get older we are taking ourselves to our friends house or out to a
school sporting event. Driving a car with yourself and other
teenagers comes with great responsibility due to accidents related to
distracted teenage drivers.

To
reduce the number of deaths as a result of driving, it is important
to practice safe defensive driving, learn and comply with all the
road rules, and educate ourselves through a drivers ed program
or through safe driving with a trusted adult. Through educating
ourselves, we are preparing ourselves to be safe drivers on the road
for ourselves, our passengers, and other drivers. It is important
that a driver is physically and mentally healthy when they are
driving their car, otherwise it could lead to an accident.

Back
in 2018 I was driving in a car with one of my friends and we got in
an accident. We were all very lucky and nobody was injured in the
accident. The accident was all my fault. I was a distracted teenage
driver and I wasn’t paying enough attention to the task at hand,
driving. Teenagers can get easily distracted with friends in the car
because of music and the smartphones that everyone is always wanting
to take videos on. This is exactly what happened to me and I learned
a lot from the experience. Because of my accident, I have become a
better player. Accidents can happen anytime and anywhere. It is
important that we are driving safely and paying attention to other
drivers around us.
