Drivers ed can either be done through a driving course, or family-taught in the United States. No matter which method, paying attention to the person who gives the lesson is very important. Children copy how adults drive. If the parents have bad driving habits, they tend to copy unconsciously. My aunt used to use her phone while driving with her kids in the back of the car. Even though he was only 6, he knew his mom was driving irresponsibly. I think everyone should use the “Do not disturb while driving” feature available for Iphone and Android. People always check their phones while waiting at the red light and it becomes a habit. Small bad habits can lead to death when driving. I believe avoiding using a phone while driving will reduce distractions. Therefore, it will reduce the number of deaths on the road significantly. Everyone should also drive when they are 100% sober from alcohol and drugs. I have three friends that have died in car accidents. All of them were drunk. Two of them were driving their own cars and crashed into a traffic light pole. The last one was sitting on the passenger side while his drunk friend was driving. It is so sad how people can be so irresponsible when it comes to driving, despite knowing the consequences. Everyone needs to remind friends and family members not to drive after taking alcohol. We should not let anyone who is drunk to drive, even if they insist they are fine to drive. My Uncle always uses his phone while driving. It is more like a habit. Most of the time he replies to texts, but sometimes he just uses his phone randomly. People usually avoid telling other people because they are afraid they would offend friends and family members. Everyone should speak up and tell the driver to stop using the phone or being distracted. I have tried to tell my Uncle and friends to put away their phones and it worked. Not only does bad habit ruin the driver’s life, it also ruins others’. Many car accidents involve innocent people’s lives. It is important to be responsible for ourselves and for other people. Everytime we drive, think for ourselves and others. I always tell people “bad driving habits have bad consequences”.
