The importance of driver education is that when people know how to drive safely and the rules of the road, less people die each year. When people don’t understand the rules of the road and are driving around recklessly, it can cause death to other people on the road that could be doing everything correctly. Some steps that can reduce the number of deaths related to driving include making sure that people are sober while driving, yearly exams for anybody that is allowed to drive in order to make sure they know the rules of the road still and won’t hurt somebody else. Another big step is just wearing a seatbelt, many people die a year due to a car crash and their life could’ve been saved if only they were wearing a seatbelt. There are so many small but significant errors that people make such as not wearing a seatbelt, or not going the speed limit or not using their blinker. Simple things like that can easily be fixed if the time is made. I have seen multiple people in the road speeding and swerving between lanes and it is such a scary sight. I’ve almost been hit a couple times by another car just because they were speeding and swerving between other cars and they almost side swipe me. Steps that I can personally take to become a better driver include making sure that all my passengers are wearing their seatbelts before I even put the car in drive. I can also make sure that when I pull up to railroad tracks, to turn my music down in order to be able to hear a train that could possibly be coming.
