Drivers Education plays a very important role in reducing the number of deaths as a result of driving. More than 38,000 people die every year in crashes on U.S. roadways. The question everyone is asking is how do we reduce these death totals? According to https://newsroom.unl.edu/ , it states that “Young drivers who have not completed driver's education are 75 percent more likely to get a traffic ticket, 24 percent more likely to be involved in a fatal or injury accident and 16 percent more likely to have an accident, the study showed”. This study displays the importance of drivers’ education.

The steps to be taken are quite simple but also very effective. First off, if you are under the influence, NEVER think about driving and putting yourself and other’s life’s at risk. Then, before even turning on the car, put your seatbelt on, check your mirrors, and make sure every single passenger has their seatbelt on. Next, limit your distractions. Turn off all devices, lower the radio, and limit conversations with passengers. Third, obey all traffic signs, laws, and regulations. Always be aware of pedestrians!

Personally, I have never experienced or have known a friend who has been in or is a victim of a car accident. I have heard stories of these instances in sports. For example, Henry Ruggs (The wide receiver for the Las Vegas Raiders) is affected greatly by a car accident. On March 3rd, 2016, Henry’s friend Roderic Scott was involved in a car crash that left him dead. Henry happened to of had the Flu that day so he was not able to drive with Rod to basketball practice. To this day, Henry remembers Rod by holding up three fingers for every single touchdown he scores.
