Driver education is extremely important. It is important to participate in a driver education class to not only keep yourself safe on the road, but to keep others safe as well. If we did not have driver education classes, our roads would be very unsafe. Granted, driving can always have a risk to it, but the risk is much lower if you are educated. From my own experience, before I started my driver education class, I already had some background knowledge of basic rules of the road. So, technically, I would have some knowledge to be able to drive on the roads. Would it be safe to do so? Absolutely not. Taking the driver education classes greatly increased my knowledge of many aspects of driving. I feel at ease when I am driving on the roads. Not only will taking these classes help reduce the amount of deaths on the road, but also being conscious about your driving will greatly reduce deaths caused by driving. Driving distracted is one of the highest reasons for deaths related to driving. Putting your cell phone away and not eating or drinking while driving are two ways to help reduce distracted driving. This can be very dangerous for everyone on the road when engaged in these things. It is important to focus on the road. My younger sister and dad were in a car accident back in June. They were driving home from my sister’s dance class, and they saw this motorcycle driver behind them who seemed to be driving irresponsibly. Sure enough, when my dad was stopping for a stop light, the motorcyclist drove into the back of my dad’s truck at full speed. My dad and sister were okay thanks to my dad’s hefty truck, but the motorcyclist had to be taken to the hospital. They found him highly drunk. That is why driving under the influence is very irresponsible, and more care and consideration should be taken when you decide to get behind the wheel after drinking. In other words, no one should get behind the wheel after drinking. Making sure that I never drive distracted will help keep myself and others safe on the road. Is important that we are always conscious of our actions when we are driving. Operating a vehicle is a huge responsibility that needs to be taken seriously.
