My
name is Bobby Theplama and I’m a senior at Van Buren High School.
For the longest time I’ve always wanted to attend my dream college
and back in September I finally got accepted into The University of
Arkansas, which my dream wouldn’t be complete if I didn't major in
Pre-Med. I’ve always wanted to help people get better because
that's what brings me my happiness in life and with the grants and
scholarships it would make my dreams come to full effect.
The
importance of Drivers Ed and reducing deaths related to driving is
the driver actually knows the law. Young teenage drivers can get
their permits at the age of 14 and 15, and passing the driver’s
test is common sense honestly. If they were to take a Drivers Ed
class, not only will it inform them about laws on the roads, they
become more knowledgeable and can make better decisions. It brings
the student into a real scenario about driving which you get to
practice and build on later in life; which if you see an accident,
the driver would know what to

do.
Significant
steps on reducing the number of deaths while driving are to stop
multitasking. In psychology, it’s impossible to multitask, you can
ask anyone. Being on your phone and driving is a multitask because
you have all your attention on one thing and can’t switch fast
enough to the road if you're about to rear end them.
My
friends are always on their phones while driving and one of my close
friends always says im the safest driver because I’m never on it.
Like they swerve and what not but I really don’t see why getting on
it unless picking up a phone call. Like that text message can wait or
that game, yes your life is based around your phone but not while
driving.
The
steps that need to be taken to become not only a better driver but
also to be safe on the roads is just simply not to multitask. The
driver is taking his/her focus off the road and for any split second
that could be the decider of your life being on the line or someone
else’s.
