Driver’s
Education
Driver’s
Ed is a very important aspect of driving. A lot of people take it for
granted and don’t understand that this is what saves people’s
lives. It teaches people the rules of the road and to always be a
defensive driver which is needed. By taking Drivers Ed it allows
people to understand that driving isn’t a game and if you mess
around it can lead to the injury of not only someone else but also
yourself. Teenagers especially don’t always understand that by not
completely reading or taking Drivers Ed will greatly impact their
understanding of the road. There are several rules that people don't
follow that if they did the number of deaths by car accidents would
be reduced. Like not having other people in the car with you until
you've had your license for over a year. By following this rule, you
are less likely to get distracted and have an accident. Then you have
the parents who allow their kids to drive without a license or even
some basic understanding of how a car works, this can lead to an
accident. If we follow these simple rules that they give us it would
reduce accidents and in turn deaths.
When
I was younger occasionally, my older brother would come and pick me
up from school or take me to my friend’s house. He wasn’t always
safe and sometimes he wouldn’t stop at stop signs or he wouldn’t
put his seat belt on. It scares me because if he were to be in an
accident without his seat belt on, he could very well die. Knowing
that he had already been in two smaller accidents due to the fact
that he was being reckless made things worse. However due to being
around and in the car with him it has influenced me the most to want
to be a safer driver. I do my best to be aware of my speed and I
always watch out for pedestrians. I will continue to stop at all the
stop signs and always put my seat belt on. I will also do my best to
review my old Drivers Ed course every once in a while and continue
to be a defensive driver.
