I have had a personal connection to a few car accidents that have occurred in my family. When I was around seventeen years old my parents had got into a car accident driving on the way back home from a wedding event they had attended. The driver was drunk and reckless. They were driving on the highway, and they slammed into the back of my mom’s truck and the driver drove them all the way into a tree. It totaled out my mother’s truck and the case was labeled as a hit and run. My mom had a swollen ankle, and chest burns marks from the seatbelt and my stepfather had to be cut out of the seatbelt and couldn’t move, because if he did they said it was possible that he would become paralyzed. Thankfully, after spending one night in the hospital they were able to come out healthy and breathing still facing a bit of pain at the time, but they made it out faithfully. There was also another accident that involved a cousin of mine. Her and her husband were on the way back from vacation and she was asleep on the passenger side and a car crashed into them. She ended up passing away and it’s been about five to six years now. She had 3 daughters whom she left behind and they have still been dealing with the loss of their mom. It also took a hard toll on her mom, sisters and close friends and family. There are a lot of tragic accidents that happen with similar stories like this every day and there needs to be more safety and precautions when driving.
