Teens who take drivers
education have a reduced chance of causing or being involved in a
crash or receiving citations for violation of laws. Drivers ed
isn’t only for teens it is available for everybody. Drivers
education should be important for all drivers to take. Making this
important will cause for the crashes and fatality rates to go down
significantly year by year. While taking drivers ed doesn’t
promise for car accidents to be 100% gone, it is a big step to
reducing accidents.
A big step to reduce the
number of deaths related to driving are to drive while being mindful
to your emotions. I have had a few people I know get into accidents
because of angry driving. Thankfully they didn’t die, however, I
know that angry driving makes you feel like you are the only person
on the ride trying to get to your destination. By not being mindful
to your emotion you are also not mindful to cars around you.
Accidents can be caused by this and you could cause for the person
you hit to have a family who has lost a loved one. I think another
step is keeping in mind that if you are the one to cause an accident
and possibly hurt someone, you are responsible for hurting not only
one person but also an entire family. If you keep that this is
something that can be caused in your mind while driving it could
possibly force you to drive safely. I have had an experience where
someone hit my mom with me and my family as well in the car while we
were at a stoplight because she wasn’t paying attention and was
talking to her passenger. If she were simply keeping her eyes on the
road it could have been easily avoided so I think simply paying
attention is a step to reduce the number of deaths.
Steps to becoming a better
driver could start by taking drivers ed. If older drivers take
drivers ed again it could help refresh their mind in traffic
laws and safety. Another way to stay safe is planning movement. In
case if an accident occurs in front or around you, plan ahead on how
you will react and where on the road you will move.
