To reduce the number of
deaths as a result of driving is by taking the courses, studying
hard, and putting in the work that it takes to become a good driver.
Practice safe driving by doing the following: staying off your phone,
be aware of your surroundings, follow the rules of the road, promote
good driving amongst others, educate your friends and family on good
driving, I always keep two hands on the wheel, and remember that
pedestrians always have the right of way. Steps that can be taken to
reduce the number of deaths related to driving are to obey traffic
laws, be predictable, avoid distractions, drive rested, and
completely avoid drugs and alcohol. In the long run this will most
definitely reduce the amount of deaths related to driving. On my 16th
birthday my friends and I decided we wanted to go on a cruise so we
took two separate cars and we drove around town, we decided that we
wanted to go down a gravel road and I was in the car that was ahead
of everyone and a big chunk of my friends were in the car behind me,
the person that was driving the car that they were all in was not
being careful and they jerked a hard right turn onto the road and
they ended up flipping the car. I watched all this happen and I was
so scared and I was shocked that I hoped that it taught the person
who was driving a lesson and it also taught me that when you are not
careful when driving that you could end up taking someone’s life,
and that is why I always make sure everyone always buckles up in my
car, even if they don’t think they have to because even though I
know that I practice safe driving there are other people on the road
that I do not trust. I do not want to put my friends and family’s
life at risk in the car because of someone else’s mistake. The
steps I can take to be a better and safer driver as well as help
others become safer on the road is to focus on driving, keeping my
attention on the road at all times which means no multitasking while
driving, and putting all distractions around me away and focus on
what is happening around me. In the case of an accident focusing my
eyes on where I want my car to go will help if I am spinning out of
control, if I do this and look where I want it to go than the object
it may hit. The last thing I can do is follow the speed limit. It
seems pretty simple, but the speed limit signs are there for a
reason; to protect others on the road. If you are speeding more
damage can be caused when an accident does occur. Thank you.
