Have you ever been behind the wheel and had a scare that made your heart drop?
Influencing and enforcing drivers ed could and does help immensely in reducing the number of deaths as a result of driving. Driving is supposed to be convenient, not fun-- so stay safe and follow the set rules.
Even you can help in reducing the number of deaths related to driving; you can do this by turning your phone off while in motion. Do you ever see one drinking their coffee or consuming their breakfast while driving? It may seem convenient, but anything that can disturb your attention from the road is not worth the convenience! When you are driving, your car, fellow drivers, and yourself deserve the utmost attention.
While some car accidents are completely accidents and not due to reckless driving, there is still something to learn from them. In February of 2015, I was in a car wreck with my sister and a friend. I personally broke my jaw, while my sister and friend suffered more injuries than one. I missed school for three months, which kicked me out of the loop and was actually exhausting. I was not buckled while in the car, which further caused me to break my jaw on the console of the vehicle. I have learned that even if you are sitting in a vehicle, you should buckle! Comfort does not triumph safety.
There are many steps you can take to being a safer driver. You can also influence your friends and family to focus on driving safety with you. Some tips include: turning your phone off while in motion, using your blinkers, following the rules to road signs and lights, not letting a passenger distract you, and more. Not only is it your safety that matter, but those driving and riding around you. You could unintentionally kill an innocent family by simply not paying attention to the road in front of you.
