As a first time driver on the road you want to be labeled cool and you want all your friends to see your new car and ride in it, regardless of what mom and or dad says. Here’s the thing avoid that when you can. Especially if you are going to try the whole texting and driving scenario. We always here don’t text and drive and please be careful from everyone older than us and we should listen. As for I, I have learned everything they say is true. Ive been in 2 accidents and 3 cars. All due to me being a first time driver and one not paying attention , but also just being on the bad side of the “defense-driver” mechanism that they teach in drivers-ed. My second one was not so bad, it was ruled as a fender -bender and went on my record as “not at fault.” I just needed to be aware and pay attention. The second one was ruled “not at fault” for me as well, but the driver before me was not paying attention and not following the traffic conditions. If I had not slammed on my breaks the way I did I probably would not be here today and that’s not just me saying it , its because it true. As another driver on the road you have to pay attention, you have to remember if the stop signs says stop, stop. Doesn’t matter if you think and or see no one right there, because you can cost someone their life. Although texting and driving is very much a thing still today does not mean you need to do it. It doesn’t matter if you see your mom, dad or even your best friend doing it. It’s a dangerous thing to do while trying to focus on the road. On top of that having all types of friends in your car can distract you whether you know it or not. You’re a timid driving first starting off and sometimes there is friends or just that one friend amongst the crew that can make you lose your focus, and you don’t want that. Don’t get me wrong driving is fun and especially when you have others, but first get your bearings right behind the wheel before you start to try to add more people in the car. That’s also because at the end of the day if something is to go wrong and its your fault it goes all on you no one else can bail you out.
