2024 Driver Education Round 2
Driving, automobiles and my experience

My grandma never learned to drive in her life, but from what i had heard thats okay, her anxiety towards just cars aproching on the other side of the road was the biggest issue even when she was the passenger just seeing and being there would cause panic excpessaly in big cites, each of her kids had tried to teach her and while there were no accidents each swore off teaching her, but she had tred, but i truly think sometimes its okay to not drive if there are factors that would make driving more dangerous for you. I’ve also seen the opposite, my mom lost the ability to drive from a stroke and loss of her left arm and she missed driving and didn’t want to get rid of her car one of her goals was to drive again, we got a wheelchair accessible car to where she could drive up to the drivers seat, both of these women have inspired me to keep going and trying.
I am still learning to drive, and my anxiety can still be bad; I wouldn’t trust myself in a busy city at least not yet. Practicing and working way up to be the safest I can be for myself and others is very important to me limiting distractions as soon as I get in the car phone set to driving muted and off low music only as background for nerves but not loud enough to take my attention. I know there have been times I wished that there were more places to practice driving, and that I had more driving mentors. I feel there should be more driving programs to help learn and teach weather that be just a volunteer who is willing to be in a car helping someone who only has a permit but doesn’t have others to practice with. I wish there was more driver education where I live, more then just family teaching family, if theres a set education less misconceptions could be shared. A better driving education could drastically decrease deaths by drivng accidents, with where i live just more proper use of turn signals would help greatly in preventing accidents. I wish there was more driving education a safe environment more education explaining why bridges freeze faster, what the safest way to drive when its snowing or raining, what to do when your car is skidding, it could be worth adding to driver education practice strapping and securing an aray of things the avrage person would transport to the car because accidents can happen just as easily when something falls off your car. Properly using ratchet straps and trailer hooks are extremely important, practice driving with a trailer hitched to you having a safe place to practice thats designated is important and so is having experienced drivers teaching you. Being taught how to safely pull over when either anxiety is bad or a emergency vehicle is passing. Learning how to properly take care of a car can also keep you and others safe. When a wheel isnt properly hanged it can get loose and fly off and could hit another car. Upkeep your car can keep you and others safer but not everyone knows how to. I think it should be a important factor of driver education being safer should include all varriables
