Since we live in our phones practically every day since we all live busy lives, it is used almost all the time wherever we go. We have to avoid using our electronic devices while on the road since it is a distraction that would end up dragging our eyes away from the road and cause a deadly accident and taking a life or more. Having distractions during our driving session would be a very fatal mistake for the driver and the fellow drivers that are around that person. That driver becomes a ticking time bomb once he or she is distracted on the road, even if it is for a second, it could cause major harm to anyone in the surrounding area. Eliminating distractions on the road should be our top priority when we’re driving so we don’t cause any accidents that would take the life of one or more people.
In terms of experiencing an accident on the road, I have had only one instance of this happening, but it wasn't anything major that would have caused any deaths. While my family and I were parked, a distracted person backed into our truck quite heavily, but luckily no one was hurt. I’ve also been in a vehicle where a person has driven irresponsibly on the road and almost caused us to get into an accident, but again luckily, didn’t suffer any injuries and he learned his lesson and has stopped driving that way ever since that day.
Lastly, in the steps that I could take to become a better driver, i know I need to be careful with who I take with me on the road and the things that I have around me that would cause that distraction that would cause any unfortunate incidents on the road that would cause any harm to others out there on the highway. It’s a step towards the right way to do my part in preventing any further accidents and as a way to save the lives of others. The road is a dangerous place filled with many reckless drivers so avoiding to be distracted on the road and following the rules of driving would be doing my part in preventing future tragedies.
