Driving Comes With Responsibility

Driving accidents leading in the most common deaths in the United States. These numbers are bigger then the losses we have taken putting our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. In order to reduce deaths while driving, we need to enforce the no distracted driving rule even further, this includes drinking, texting, as well as smoking. The steps we can take to prevent this is to have a feature on the phone that doesn’t allow you to use it while in motion, and also to have a responsibility when intoxicated meaning always having a designated driver or even not going anywhere, staying at home. I have never been in an accident myself but my friends have been in one, but the other driver that crashed into them was driving irresponsibly and T-boned them. The other driver was on their phone and my friends were on there way home from a sporting event. My friends mom was taking them home, they weren’t allowed to drive yet because we were still in middle school which if it was a fatal accident would have changed lives for not just me but for everyone who has known them and ending a life that was that young is despicable even if you didn’t mean too. The steps you can take to be a more safe driver is to not be distracted and follow all rules of the road even if you are late or in a rush to get somewhere. Always follow the rules because your life isn’t the only one who’s at stake, the people who you are transporting and others are at risk.
