Driving Education

Three million people in the United States are hurt by cars each year. Two Million drivers are permanently hurt each year. While 1 out of 7 people does not wear a seat belt. Seat belts reduce the risk by 45 % which is a lot, that is why everyone needs to know safety about driving and start wearing their seatbelts at all times. This essay is going to be talking about the importance of drivers ed, how to reduce the risk of injury/ death when in a car, what steps can be taken to prevent injuries, and if I have ever experienced someone driving recklessly.

The importance of teenagers learning about driving education can reduce the number of deaths that take place each year. Teenagers that are sixteen to eighteen years old are most likely to get into fatal car crashes. If the teenagers learn about safety then this will be greatly reduced. There are six simple steps to avoid car crashes. Those six steps are buzz driving, distracted driving, and speed. Never drive a car if you have taken some kind of substance such as alcohol or drugs. People should also not get in a car if the driver is under the influence of alcohol and/ or drugs, either way, it could go really wrong because the driver is not fully focused on driving and they could cause a crash that could possibly result in serious injuries. The next step is not being distracted while driving. Do not be on your phone if you are driving, do not mess with the radio or do anything that would cause you to take your eyes off the road. It is important to keep your eyes on the road because the amount of time it takes to press a button on the stereo you have driven the length of a football field on the high way. Or if you are in the city you could possibly run a red a light that you did not see because you were not looking so then you could get in a car crash. Watch the speed that you are driving at. You do not want to go over the speed limit or go way under the speed limit because crashes could happen. If you are going over the speed limit you will not have enough time to stop if you need to do so quickly. If you are driving way under the speed limit then you are dangerous to other drivers because they are trying to go the speed limit and they could accidentally crash into you because you were not going the speed limit even though it was slower than the speed limit. These are the steps that people can take to be more careful while in a car and steps that I can also take and to keep preventing myself from being in a crash since I have not.
