Driving experiences
Throughout my life, I have not had that many driving accident experiences. I barely started driving around a year ago, and I am still scared to get on certain roads. Although I do not have many accident experiences, I do have one that is fresh in my memory. I am currently in San Antonio, helping my aunt take care of her child while she works. This means that we are going back to Laredo almost every Saturday and coming back to San Antonio the next day reasonably late. With the time change, it gets really dark at around six in the afternoon. One day on our way back, there was so much traffic that we could not really go fast in some areas or see cars in front of us due to it being overly dark and the light from the vehicles blinding us. Once we entered the highway, there was still so much traffic, but we were able to go faster than we were before. While on the highway, the car in front of us kept slowing down but would speed up at the same time, causing us to do the same. While that was happening, the truck behind us kept tailgating us, which is already a bad idea in general. My uncle ended up break checking the truck behind us, which almost caused him to hit us. The truck ended up speeding up and changing to the lane next to us. My uncle kept driving, but since he braked checked the truck and the truck sped up, he ended up being mad, which made him hit us and jerked us to the side. We were already in the last lane of the highway, so there was a wall there. If we had swerved or if he would have pushed us harder than he initially did, we would have hit the wall and nearly flipped over. We were already off the ground, meaning there was another road under us. This could have ended extremely bad considering that we had a five-year-old in the back seat too. Not only that but in today's society, we do not know if someone has a weapon like a gun. The guy in the truck could have had one and gotten extremely mad and pulled it out and essentially shot us all without him knowing or caring that there were other people inside the car. My uncle was being careless and irresponsible over the situation. Something terrible could happen to us just for his carelessness. This is an excellent example of why we have to be careful and not only responsible while being on the road since it could lead to many horrible things. Things like this they show while going to driving classes, and it is essential that we pay attention to it since it could one day essentially happen to one of us. Although we may think that we will never have accidents, they are bound to happen; not everyone is lucky.
