Drivers' education allows for the person to know what to expect when they go onto the open road. If you take drivers’ education then you can learn the importance of safety, the consequences, and the signs for dangers. Even if not, everyone takes drivers education the risk is smaller than if no one takes drivers education. A big reason for driving death is distracted driving, drunk driving and driving while tired. To prevent distracted driving, you can shut off your phone when you get into the car. To prevent drunk driving there could be a change of laws so that even a little impairment from alcohol can have big consequences. There could also be rest spots in bars where people can sleep in their car to sober up. Another option is something like a valet testing people to make sure they are okay enough to drive. The idea may have some downsides, but these are base ideas for ways to lower the amount of drunk driving and distracted driving. If the person in question is tired and needs to drive, I would suggest taking a nap in the back seat of their car for even a little bit of time and then starting to drive. If the issue is that someone is really bad at driving, then there is an option of having someone retake the driving test more often than every 8 years. Having the person in question that is taking the driver's test pass the test more than once to get their driver's license could be an option. I have personally not been in a car crash or have any of my family driving irresponsibly. My family tries to drive responsibly since they rarely drive by themselves, meaning they would be risking their life and the person with them if they were to be reckless. My family have been in car crashes before but have learned from those incidents to become better drivers. The closest to a crash I have been in is when my uncle nearly got hit by a car. I was young but I remember the crash and the car being on fire. Not a big fire but there was still one fire. The cars were pulled to the side and the police had to deal with the accident since the other driver got hurt. My dad has been in a car accident. He fell asleep at the wheel causing him to wreck a brand-new car. He has been extra careful since then, making sure he was not in anything but the best condition to drive his cars. So has my grandma (my mother's mom). She was by her house trying to get back into her driveway and someone rear-ended her car. She was coming home from grocery shopping, and she lives on a busy street. She followed the proper driving rules, and someone turned the corner fast. It was loud and no one really knew how to react right away. After a little while she realized what had happened. Shen had a little bit of back and neck pain, but it did not need immediate medical attention. She had to get the insurance number from the other person. She was scared that her insurance was going to go up despite the fact that it was not her fault and was worried about getting her car fixed. My grandma was not very wealthy, and they struggled so she was panicking. That accident later caused her to have a distrust of people. Now she is extra careful. She gave more notice to the people around them when she was driving. It has affected the way her kids do things as well. My family members who were around my grandma after the accident have picked up her mannerism when it comes to driving. They give more notice and are always warning my siblings and myself that we must not only be cautious of what we do on the roads but what other people do as well. Not even all the preparation can help you though sometimes. My mother took driving lessons and used my grandmother’s driving mannerism yet still got into an accident. It was a hit and run. The car was not heavily damaged, but it was worrying because my younger brothers were in the car at the time. We can start putting our phones away while we drive. The out of site out of mind tactic while having it on do not disturb. We could also shut our phone off completely after sending a text to the people we were talking to that we are about to drive.
