A driver’s education is important in our daily lives. Understanding the laws and street signs are necessary for our safety. If one is not learning the right information, the individual is at risk of endangering themselves and others. Knowledge is power but how you use that knowledge is the key to it all.
Like sports, one must master the techniques and methods through practice along with repetition. Through the guidance of an instructor, drivers are provided with the necessary procedures to prepare themselves for real-world situations. The experts can help manage their emotions while staying focused on the road. Overtime, the driver will learn to drive by themselves with little difficulty. According to a study by the University of Nebraska, it says “Young drivers who have not completed driver's education are 75 percent more likely to get a traffic ticket, 24 percent more likely to be involved in a fatal or injury accident and 16 percent more likely to have an accident, the study showed." This shows how dangerous driving can be if one does not complete a driver’s education.
Driving recklessly is another matter many drivers must prevent. They may face consequences they will soon regret soon. The rise in alcohol and drug consumption is causing many problems for drivers. One must always be aware of the road without any influence. There are apps such as Lyft or uber where they can have a professional driver take them home. They are also affordable, so you don’t have to worry about spending too much money. This is a great alternative even if you are by yourself or with a couple of friends. Another is a taxi or chauffeur. The drivers are experts and can be the eyes to watch the road for you while your mind is not in the right space.
On a Sunday evening, one of my friends was driving irresponsibly. Instead of having a trusted associate around, he decided to take matters into his own hands. While under the influence, he ended up going on the wrong side of the road for a while. Thankfully he had family members nearby the area to assist him. He was able to make it home safely. This is very dangerous for anyone to do. If no one were there to help him, he would end up suffering injuries or worse.
Steps to reduce:
As a driver myself, I understand those who are new to driving may be anxious but there are steps to reduce these issues. "Practice makes perfect" is something everyone should always remember. I always keep this statement in my mind especially when I drive. I may not be perfect but after practicing consistently, i strive to be better than before. Through practice and repetition, one will build enough confidence and mastery to drive safely. They will learn to do it automatically. This will be second nature to them. All their fears are minimized while they are behind the wheel.
Additionally, learning from a certified driving instructor is very useful. The professional can help you understand what you are doing wrong. The individual can correct your mistakes, so it won't affect you later. They also can teach you tricks that can make things easier and smooth for one to drive.
Most importantly, understanding the road laws is crucial. These laws exist to protect drivers and pedestrians. Learning about these laws can assist you in preventing unnecessary movements.
If I’m going to a bar or a area that involves alcohol, i will bring a friend of mine that is not sober to take me home. I cannot function properly while under the influence. There is no high guarantee I will make it home safely. Many people had dealt with tragedies or ended up in the wrong destination.
Driving school is what I highly recommend. One may assume they are professionals until they have a lot to learn from an instructor. Learning from a professional is good especially for those who broke laws, acquired tickets, or suffered injuries from car accidents. The professional can prevent mistakes that lead to those situations.
Your safety is a priority. Anything that leads to careless movements can lead to major issues. One should never drive recklessly on the road. They are not only endangering themselves but to others as well. Avoid any substance that can alter your judgement. If your mind is not focused, you will be distracted. A mind full of distractions is another issue. We are humans but we must respect the laws that are designed to keep us safe from harm. The road will be much safer once many people learn drivers’ education.
