2025 Driver Education Round 2
Driving is Not a Right

I believe that everybody should be required to take driver's education or pass more than one test to earn their driver's license as one in driver's education would have to do. This would make the roads much safer and prevent many collisions. Many car crashes are avoidable by at least one driver involved; this means that the loss of lives related to these crashes are avoidable as well. We must take this very seriously and implement more strict regulations on earning your driver’s license. This way, people do not have to fear the loss of their lives or the lives of their loved ones on the road. I have lost my grandparents in a tragic car crash that killed everyone involved. To prevent people from feeling the same way as my family did when this tragedy occurred, we must ensure that every driver is extremely familiar with the rules of the road, have ample practice behind the wheel, and know how to navigate driving safely before we allow them to obtain their driver's license.
Personally, though I have taken driver's education, there are still things I can do to make the roads safer. As a teenager, sometimes it is tempting to text and call while driving. I must remember that is not safe and refrain from doing that. The same thing applies with driving late at night when I am tired or listening to music loudly. These all sometimes seem like insignificant things that everyone has done. However, it only takes one time and your life or the lives of those around you can be changed forever. I can also ensure that my friends and family are driving safely too. If they are doing anything that can be deemed as dangerous, a simple warning or reminder of the danger could help save lives.
I never want anyone to deal with what my family did when we lost my grandparents. This means that I will do my best to encourage any new drivers I know to take driver's education. Additionally, I will do my best to be the safest driver I can be and keep others around me driving safely. I believe that everyone should be required to take multiple tests for their license or drivers’ education to ensure that everyone has the proper knowledge to be able to drive safely. Drivers’ education is so important to new drivers, using repetition and different kinds of knowledge tests to make sure every student will be a safe driver when they finish the course. In addition to taking drivers education everyone should do their best to speak up against unsafe driving even against something as simple as your friend speeding. Because as I said earlier it only takes one time, one mishap and the loss of lives is possible.
Drivers must be extremely aware and careful whether driving the car or not to ensure everybody around them is safe. We need to remember that driving is not a fun weekend activity and is something that must be taken seriously. You are driving around potentially dangerous weapon and you need to make sure that it is not used as such.
