Car crashes are one of the highest leading causes of death in the United States. This is because drivers don’t practice safe driving. To reduce the number of deaths relating to driving, all drivers should begin safe driving before even getting inside their vehicle and this is by inspecting their vehicle before driving. Once they are in their cars drivers should put their seatbelts on, make sure all passengers put their seatbelts on as well, adjust their mirrors, put the music they want to listen to for the ride and make sure they know the directions to the place they are headed. When the driver is on the road they should be alert on focused on only driving. The driver should obey all signs on the road and never pass the speed limit. The driver should also anticipate the actions and errors of other drivers. They should use proper signaling and following distance as they drive. It is important to never drive if intoxicated and that using a phone while driving is never acceptable. It is also best to minimize all distractions while driving and that passengers keep good posture while driving. It is also important for drivers to pull over and park at a safe location if they are lost or unsure where to go next, they should never try to look up directions while driving.
I have never been in a car accident, but I have experienced seeing my friends drive unsafely while I'm in the passenger seat. When this happens, I let them know that driving irresponsibly can cause them to get a ticket or even end the life of someone. I always ask them to please behave correctly because they are putting our lives and the lives around us at risk. I believe that speaking up to someone who is driving irresponsibly is very important. This helps remember the driver that they should take driving seriously.
