Driver
education is important because it teaches people how to drive
properly. It could teach someone something new or inform someone of
certain statistics that could prevent them from driving
irresponsibly. Also, the effects of a driving class could have a
bigger impact on them than their parents teaching them. In result,
people will be more prone to driving safely, which will result in
less deaths.

The
most important step to reduce driving deaths is to put down the
cellphone. Texting and driving is causing more and more deaths
annually. This is increasingly becoming a larger problem and could be
easily stopped. Additionally, reducing the amount of distractions in
the car, including loud music, rambunctious passengers, eating while
driving, and pets could reduce the amount of crashes. Finally,
getting the proper amount of sleep at night and eating a healthy
breakfast could improve response time, resulting in less crashes.

I
have not personally been in a car accident, however my family members
have. My mother was rear-ended on the way to work a few years ago and
had to be in a neck brace for a few days. Often times, she doesn't
wear a seatbelt and texts while driving, so she was very lucky to
still be in good health afterwards.

There
are several steps you could take to become a better driver. The most
important step is to limit distractions, the most important one being
the cellphone. You could also get the proper amount of sleep at night
so that you can properly think and respond while driving. You could
also educate others on the statistics of crashes and help encourage
them to enroll in a driving education class to improve their driving
ability. Also, it is important to use your blinker, look over your
shoulder before changing lanes, and drive the speed limit.
