The importance
of drivers ed is to teach others the safety, rules of the
roads, and ultimately reduce the number of fatalities. To reduce
fatalities related to driving, people need to pay more attention and
follow the laws that are in order. People are too distracted by their
phones or eating now days. There are also people who still drink and
drive, which is another big reason there are accident related
injuries. One time I was in the car with my children’s father and
we were hit by a semi. The semi merged over and hit us from the side.
Later, I learned the semi driver was over on his driving hours. I’m
not sure if he was falling asleep at the wheel but maybe if he would
have pulled over when he was supposed to and got some sleep the
accident could have been prevented, that’s something I will never
know. When I’m on the road to be a better driver I can make sure
I’m following the speed limits, following people at a safe distance
and make sure I’m never on my cell phone. Like I said before, cell
phones are a big distraction because people are paying more attention
to their phones then the road.
