Essay Title: Educate Future Generations of Drivers: All Roads lead to Responsibility and Irresponsibility Calvin Larkins 5/28/20 Youth Forward Scholarship In today's society all roads lead to educated drivers being responsible and being role models for future generations who want to be safe and educated drivers. On the other hand, all roads can lead to driver's who are not educated setting a bad example for future generations who want to be safe and educated drivers. This can explain how future generations want to be safer and the steps to reduce horrific death rates not just to adults but to younger people. The importance of drivers ed in reducing the number of death due to driving is to show others like me how to stay safe whether through important videos, and to show and explain ways to limit the amount of deaths in driving. Another reason why drivers ed is important because not only does it give statistics of hazardous things like what happens when you drink while driving, but it teaches you how to stay safe and being a well-educated driver. Moreover, the steps that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving, is one always be aware of your surroundings. Another way to reduce the number of deaths related to driving is to always have a designated driver who is trustworthy and responsible. Having a designated driver can reduce the number of deaths because one, they stay sober, two they would be that educated driver, and three they would be the most trustworthy and responsible person to drive someone safely. But most of all you should know who you're driving with and hang around the right people to drive with, some designated drivers on the other hand might be irresponsible. One of my experiences where one of my family members have been in an accident, is where my mom was in her correct lane and that one of the drivers accidently hit the back of my mom's car. This reveals that the driver at fault was the person who hit the back of my mom's car because they were on their phone not paying attention to what they were doing. This can be a prime example of why all roads lead to irresponsibility because driver's who are constantly on their phones can be a negative influence to others who want to be an educated driver. The responsible driver in this case who be my mom because she knows what is right from wrong, she stresses to me every time I drive to be aware of my surroundings and to know who I drive with. Furthermore, the steps I can take to be a better and safer driver is to keep my phone away at all times, be aware of my surroundings, check blind spots, rear view mirrors, and look both ways before I proceed to drive. The ways I can help others become safer drivers is to explain to them the positive and negative effects of driving unsafe and safe. And to also inform them on how to be a responsible driver and well-educated driver.
