For
You and Someone Else
Car wrecks are
one of the leading causes of deaths in all age groups in the United
States due to carelessness of drivers and passengers. This makes
driving education more necessary to prevent some accidents, because
if the knowledge is enforced into Americans minds then it will be
harder for them to disobey if they know how serious the consequences
are. One step that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths is
making drivers take a test every 5 years to make sure that they still
know the rules of the road and the common mistakes that shouldn’t
be made. Another step is to add more reminders on the roads like the
“click it or ticket” slogan, because no one wants to have to pay
for an expensive ticket simply because their seat belt wasn’t
bluckled. I have personally been in a car accident where the other
party was at fault, this person slammed into the drivers side of my
car while recklessly trying to get over into the lane I was in. If I
didn’t have my seatbelt on I could’ve hit my head on the window
or the steering wheel because I wouldn’t have had the restraint on
me. The man was driving irresponsibly and tried to leave the scene
but I was able to report it in time and he was in trouble by the law
enforcement. This is why it is important to pay attention on the
road because you can seriously hurt yourself or someone else and
still have to pay the price. I can become a better driver by being
more aware of my surroundings because in these modern times a lot of
people don’t like to use their blinkers when getting over anymore
and if your not paying attention they can hit you, “you have to
drive for yourself and the cars around you” is what my mother tells
me all of the time. Also I could always drive slower, because the
speed limit is the fastest you should drive but it’s okay to drive
under it just don’t go over it. It is so easy to break the rules
while driving to be like others but you always have to remember save
your life and someone else’s.
