How I help save lives driving

I have abstained
from distracted driving in a multitude of ways to benefit me, and my
community as a whole. The first way I abstain from distracted driving
is by using the AT&T Driver mode app that is installed on my cell
phone. The reason I used this application is due to the fact that it
mutes all notifications on my phone, and will send an automatic
response to people who message, or call me. This is very useful for
allowing me not to notice my phone going off unless the person
designates that it is an emergency, and after which it will send a
notification through my phone. If I do get one of those notifications
that designate an emergency I will find a safe location such as a
parking lot to respond to the person who needed my help. Another way
I keep myself from being distracted driver is if I have a friend, or
family member in the car with me at the time of my phone going off I
will have them answer the phone for me. This allows the person that
needed me to get a response, and allows me to keep my attention
directed to the road itself. Thus allowing me to be able to safely
drive, and also know that everyone that needed me had a response. The
final way I abstain from distracted driving is by also putting my
phone on silent, and turning off all notifications on my phone.
However this is my least favorite way of abstaining from distracted
driving due to the fact that if a person desperately needs me they
will not be able to get a hold of me. Thus could cause an issue if
someone desperately needs something, or something time sensitive
happens. Thought I will do this once in awhile if I forget to do the
AT&T Driver mode before I enter my car, and get ready to leave.
Now how will I abstain from distracted driving during my college
experience will come in a multitude of ways. I will maintain the same
methods of abstaining from distracted driving as I did during my high
school years, and when I was learning how to drive originally.
Another way I will maintain my ways of abstaining from not being a
distracted driver is making sure if I have friends in the car who are
being rowdy to stop them, so I can focus on the road. I will not
allow a friend, or friends to distract me while I am driving to
whatever location we are going to ensure that we will arrive at our
destination safely. Thus ensuring that we do not endanger ourselves,
or other individuals on the road. The final way I will abstain from
distracted driving is if I am in a car with a friend, or family
member of mine, and I see they are distracted driving I will stop
them. Then if need be switch seats with the driver, or assist them in
anyway possible so the driver is no longer distracted, and can drive
safely. If these same techniques are done by everyone on the road we
can save millions of lives.
