Importance
of being a safe driver

Driving is a very dangerous thing and some people don’t understand
that because they’ve never been in a car wreck. An average of 102
deaths per day happen because of car crashes. It is very important
that people all around the world know how dangerous driving can be.
There is so many options now out there for driving education classes.
Most teenagers just skip over all of the important things they should
read because they just can’t wait to get their license. If they
would actually take time to watch the videos that show deaths from
driving, then maybe they would be more responsible on the roads. One
in seven people do not wear seatbelts when they are in a vehicle, but
they need to understand that seatbelts reduce the risk of death by
45%. Seatbelts even cut the risk of serious injury by 50%; and not
wearing them means that a person is 30x more likely to be ejected
from a vehicle during a crash. Here are some steps that could be
taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving: make sure
the vehicle is in good condition, always watch surroundings, wear
seatbelts at all times, only drive when in good physical and mental
condition, and develop driving skills whenever possible. I have been
in a car accident before with my mom so I know how scary it can be.
My mom was actually on her phone while driving and that also is one
of the biggest causes of car crashes. To become a safer and more
aware driver here are some steps to follow: keep a safe distance from
other drivers, make sure hands are properly positioned on the
steering wheel, cut off all distractions, fasten the seatbelt
properly, vehicle needs to be safe, focus on driving only, take
precautions during bad weather, and don’t speed.
