Importance of Drivers ed
So many people in every community fail to understand how important it is to not just take driving seriously but also take drivers ed serious. There are so many people in our country or even state who drive without a license. These people tend to believe that as long as they don’t get pulled over by the cops they will be fine. However, they fail to comprehend why the government makes them do all these things such as drivers ed before actually driving. Driving is not a game where if you make one mistake you can simply learn from it and make sure it doesn’t happen again. One mistake could mean death and not just for you, but any other person in the car or the people in the other car which was involved in the accident. Driving without taking the necessary precautions such as driver ed is highly selfish and very inconsiderate of other people on the same road as you. In this essay we will be speaking of the importance of driver’s education and the steps we can all take to increase not just our but everyone’s safety.
I've spoken to so many people regarding drivers ed due to my parents' obsession over safety. My friends however cannot say the same as a lot of them rushed to get their license/permit because they wanted to be able to drive as soon as possible. Despite this, now that I have matured more I've come to appreciate my parents for enforcing driver safety on me as I am aware of all the accidents that occur due to simple mistakes that could have been prevented if they were informed more efficiently on drivers ed. The significance of drivers ed when correlating it with accidents is overwhelming. The reason behind this is because drivers ed teaches us simple things that can be the deciding factor of whether or not we live or die when on the road. A perfect example of this would be how to properly drive in the rain. I know so many drivers who are very uncomfortable driving in the rain EVEN with knowledge from drivers ed. According to the US Department of Transportation, there is an average of 1 million vehicular crashes each year due to wet pavement. Unfortunately, these crashes result in the death of approximately 5000 people and injures around another 400000 people. How many of these people do you think took their time to fully understand drivers ed? Just one simple thing that is taught in drivers ed is responsible for so many deaths and injuries imagine! Yet, people still fail to understand how important drivers education is.
There are plenty of steps that can be taken to reduce the amount of deaths related to driving. However, I feel the most important one would be enforcing drivers ed and making sure people are being informed about it. Not only this but so many people drive without an actual license and if they have a permit, will not be driving with adult supervision. This is all due to the belief that as long as the cops don't catch them they will be fine. Like I mentioned in my first paragraph this is very inconsiderate of those on the same road as you, as you may be the reason they get in an accident due to your reckless driving and your carelessness. Which is why I believe the police should enforce permit regulations and license regulations as well. What I mean by this is that we need to find some way to ensure that the people on the road actually belong there and are not teenagers driving without a proper state-issued ID. I believe the regulations we put on these IDs are very effective if we actually enforce them. An example of this would be those who drive others without having their license for the required time. In almost all states it is required that someone carry a license for a specific amount of time before being allowed to drive others. Now these people tend to be the least experienced regarding driving which makes them the most prone to accidents. Yet, a lot of them don’t understand this and will drive others which makes them prone to accidents as well. If we make sure that people are not driving without proper state-issued IDs then the amount of deaths we prevent will grow exponentially. Especially if we also enforce drivers ed, we will definitely see a huge difference in the amount of deaths related to driving.
I have never been in a car accident due to my parents being obsessed over safety, however, the amount of times I have seen my friends drive reckless is unbelievable. I would also like to say that I have never been in a car accident not only because of my parents being obsessed over safety but me too being obsessed over my safety. When you see your friend doing something reckless TELL THEM! Do not let them put your life in danger. The amount of times I had to do this is incredible. Teenagers my age just do not care about anything anymore. They will put their lives and other people's lives in danger just to have fun. A perfect example of this would be people speeding down roads with their friends to see who can drive the fastest. It is incredibly inconsiderate as you are not just putting you and the other drivers lives in danger but every single person on that road all because you want to prove you are faster than someone else? Teenagers for some reason will drive drunk too which makes absolutely no sense. This is why you need to also surround yourself with good influences so they do not let you make dumb decisions like that. Despite me knowing all the things I know, I believe that someone can always improve no matter what. A perfect example of something I can try to improve would be my ability to analyze situations. Even though I may know how to be a safe driver, I need to understand that I cannot expect the same from others and that their mistakes, too, can lead to my downfall. Due to this dilemma, I need to be able to recognize situations where my life could be in danger due to other peoples reckless actions so I can ensure my safety and anybody that I may be driving with. I plan to help my friends become better drivers by informing them about drivers ed and also by informing them about what their actions can lead to in the future.
I feel that there is too much information about the importance of drivers ed to fit in one essay. People need to understand the importance of drivers education in order to ensure their safety. In conclusion, I really hope that my essay convinced someone to change their ways and understand that their actions can lead to the deaths of others and that not taking drivers ed seriously is very inconsiderate of those driving on the same road as you.
