Importance of Drivers ed Importance of Drivers ed Drivers ed is a very important part of driving that many people take for granted. Drivers Ed has information that you would not learn by just driving on your own. For instance, what certain road signs mean, how to change lanes safely, and strategies for emergency situations. Once people start to learn the basics of Drivers Ed, the numbers of deaths will go down. Steps that can help reduce the number of deaths include following the speed limit, not texting and driving, not tailgating, as well as being aware of your surroundings. I have had my fair share with reckless driving in the past with my parents. My dad goes too fast in the car sometimes and does not listen to instructions. My Mom sometimes misses signs and almost gets us into accidents. But I know that I can take the steps to be a better driver by not doing what my parents do, as well as driving the speed limit, staying aware of my surroundings and learning from the bad experiences of others.
