Importance
of Driving Safely
Prompt:What
is the importance of drivers ed in reducing the number deaths
as a result of driving
I
believe educating drivers over driving safety is extremely crucial to
reduce the results of deaths. Being a teenager myself, so many
teenagers think they are unstoppable. Teenagers believe that no
matter what they are doing they are invincible and nothing bad could
possibly happen to them. Majority of teens maintain this mindset
while controlling a 3,000 + metal vehicle that could easily kill many
people with one wrong move. This is why I believe driving school
should be required for every teen. Majority of my friends drove
around with their parents for a certain amount of hours and then
received their license. However, when I was learning to drive my
parents enrolled me in an actual school dedicated for driving. We
started off doing driving simulators, and after a few weeks they
would take us out on the roads. However, before I was allowed out on
the roads I had to take a mandatory two hour class learning about
driving safety. Throughout those two hours I learned about the
dangers of drunk driving and driving carelessly. I remember one video
of a group of teens driving quickly down a simple street. The girls
in the back weren’t wearing seatbelts and the driver was being
careless and ended up crashing the car, I believe the majority of
people in that car were declared dead. We also watched videos of
parents who lost their children due to drunk driving and I remember
that class leaving a huge imprint on my life. I'm always cautious
while driving, I won’t drive unless I know everyone in my car has a
seatbelt, and I always keep my phone tucked away while operating a
vehicle. In conclusion, I believe we could save several lives if we
required teens to take a driving school before having freedom of the
roads
