The
importance of drivers ed is a result of reducing the number of
deaths, by being taught right from wrong when driving. When a
teenager turns the age of 15, they are under the supervision of an
adult. So they learn as they drive, they start to get in good habits
because the adult is telling them good. Now, teenagers have turned 16
and now can drive on their own. The 16-year-old now is aware of there
surroundings on the road. They are more aware and reassured about
driving, reducing the number of deaths.
Steps
that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths is perhaps having it
a law that individuals of the driving age must attend a reteaching
session about safe driving. The individual would schedule a date to
go within the year. If the individual does not obtain this law then
they would have to retake the test along with 10 hours of community
service. Another way is just advertising safe driving in schools and
out of schools.
In
my life, my friend gets in a car accident for not paying attention to
the road and being distracted by an electronic device. They were
simply trying to change the song on their phone and wrecked into a
ditch. Unfortunately, their car got totaled and the driver passed
away. The individual had a huge future ahead of them, a future
teacher, a future parent, and more importantly a loved one to many.
With just a click of a button there life ended.

Throughout
all of the experiences that I have witnessed, I will forever want to
be a role model for my family and friends to be a safe driver. To
better others on how to become a better driver, I will suggest the
"driving mode" on phones. This is a way where you get no
notifications while driving, you can not access anything on your
phone until your done driving. Advertising and having workshops on
safe driving will allow others to be aware of there actions and
surroundings on the road.
