When a person is educated on the characteristics of driving, it can ensure better practices on the road. If this type of knowledge is presented multiple times before a person is introduced to driving, they can retain the dire knowledge needed to have a safe experience while traveling. The more familiar a person is with the correct practices of driving, the less accidents will occur. Driving is a special skill that must be reiterated and continuously taught due to its abundance and relevance to society. There are a couple direct steps that could be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving. First, there could be a program that is built to start teaching younger generations of kids before the age of fifteen. This should be done to encourage safe implementation of the accurate rules of driving. Another step is to grade the young drivers a little more precisely and introduce more topics that might be seen in the real world. From my experience, getting a driver’s license is too pressured and it seems that the certain teachers in the driver education class do not introduce enough details that will allow drivers to feel as if they know a good amount of driving terms and conditions. The safety precautions should be expressed and repeatedly mentioned throughout the time spent with the students.
I have seen many car accidents in my lifetime and have been truly blessed to not have been a part of them. When I see these occurrences, it strikes me with awe and leads me to consider what the people involved are going through at that moment in time. For example, I witnessed a wreck take place while on a trip with my archery team. It happened as me and my family were pulling out of the place where we had eaten lunch. A crash took place in the middle of the intersection that was located right in front of us. My immediate instinct was to pray for the people that were involved and to be thankful that we were not involved in the situation. The people in both cars were ok and it seemed that they sustained only minor injuries. It made me realize that life is a gift like no other, and we should take care of it with our mind, body, and soul.
I believe everyone that is eligible to drive should take the time out of their day to make sure they know the basics of commuting. Being educated on this vital topic will provide the world with a better safety standard. If a person sees another individual doing something incorrectly on the road, it should be corrected through persistence. This is especially true in friendships because such tight bonds should signify a closeness that allows one to share what needs to be shared. A prime detail in keeping others safe on the roads is to be a good role model for the upcoming drivers. This will ensure security among new drivers and will set the standard for generations to come. A step that should also be taken to make sure everyone stays safe is the act of paying attention to one’s surroundings. This is a major problem with many people because of the many distractions that are presented in day-to-day life. The skill of focus should be obtained, and diversions should be cut down to a minimum to deal with this issue. These issues can only be resolved through the individual and should be encouraged by society as a whole.
Overall, being educated on driving safety is an important component that should thoroughly be discussed. It is a subject that will make sure the current and future drivers stay connected to the rules of the road. The wheel should not take away a life, it should provide positive outcomes of transportation. The only way to do this is to be the change the world needs to see and show others what it looks like to have the knowledge associated with driver education.
